Chrome extensions that can read every website you visit

This is the broadest permission Chrome grants. An extension holding it can read and alter the contents of any page you open — your bank, your inbox, your company's internal tools — without asking again.

Holding a permission is not wrongdoing. A password manager needs access to every site; a screen recorder needs the tab. What matters is whether the access matches what the extension is for. These lists let you make that judgement yourself, which the store’s one-line warning does not.

Permissions are read from each extension’s published manifest, as of 2026-09-16. Counts cover the 295 extensions tracked so far, not the whole store.
